Pax East 2014 Is This Weekend!

Pax East starts in Boston this weekend and there are a number great events going on for gaming fans. From the show floor to big announcements this is my favorite time of year. If you can’t make it to the show, Twitch Tv will be streaming many of the events live and there will be a number of special events taking place sponsored by some of the big players in the industry.

The Next Level, a Ubisoft sponsored event, will be on hand and streaming of their tournaments will be available if you can’t make it to the event. They also have some great contests for those attending Pax, including a scavenger hunt using the WeChat app. Clues begin at 10am and the best, and presumably most creative responses will win prizes including Ubisoft games, Nvidia Shields, Astro A30 Audio systems and more. So download the WeChat app and follow TNLevel to play along. For more details visit The Next Level website at www.tnlvl.com and stop by the Ubisoft booth at Pax.

Another big streaming event is being held by WB Games and Boston’s own Turbine Studios for its DC Infinite Crisis MOBA game. They will be holding a $25,000 Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday sponsored by Nvidia. On Sunday they will hosting a $5,000 Amateur Final. If you stop by booth #636 on Saturday at 1pm dressed in DC cosplay you can score ticket to the Infinite Crisis party and take part in a photo shoot and live broadcast. Party is 18+ and will be held Saturday night. Check our the live broadcast at www.Twitch.tv/infinitecrisis.com.

If tournaments are not your cup of tea, Pax offers a ton of panels to keep you entertained, and more importantly give you a break from walking the expo floor. This years keynote, sorry Storytime guest is Alex Rigopulos, CEO and Co-Founder of Hamonix. The popular Gabe and Tycho Q&A, which usually follows Storytime and happens again on Sunday, will not happen this year. A popular feature of any Pax, but really, is there a question they haven’t already answered, they deserve a break. All is not lost though, they have been taking question submissions and will combined the Q&A with the popular Make A Strip panel on Saturday. They also dropped the bombshell that Acquisitions Inc will make its Boston and Pax East debut on Sunday! Gabe and Tycho, along with Scott Kurtz and new intern Morgan Webb, formerly of XPlay, on a hunt for dragon eggs in an unscripted Dungeons and Dragons adventure.

Tech and Gaming News will be on hand to bring all this and more to you. In fact I’m packing as I write this. If you can’t make it be sure to watch all the streaming action on Twitch and The Next Level. If your going enjoy, be safe and if you see us say Hi!
